SEASONED HARDWOOD LOGS

At Rudge Estate we pride ourselves on selling high quality seasoned firewood all year round with a professional and friendly service.

Our firewood and kindling are all sourced responsibly from our woodland on the farm. All of our logs are hardwood with a mixture of species, predominently oak but includes Ash, beech, silver birch, alder and sycamore. Our quality firewood is perfect for use in open fires and log burners. We only use timber sustainably sourced as part of our woodland management and habitat restoration. Our logs are processed and then barn stored to ensure a clean burn to maximise heat output.

We have recently expanded our fire wood enterprise into a new larger purpose built log processing and drying barn. This will ensure an improved supply and better quality of firewood through out the year. We were awarded a grant by The European Agricultural Fund For Rural Development through their LEADER scheme to help with the new building (see details below).

We can deliver firewood for free locally, or further with a charge. It can also be collected from our premises with prior arrangement, making sourcing your firewood easy and convenient.

LEADER Funding Details

Rudge Farm: Wood drying and processing building

Grant funding was awarded to build a barn for the purpose of processing, storing and drying of firewood with the aim of diversifying a rural business, creating employment, delivering environmental benefits by producing more efficient wood fuels leading to improved management of woodlands.
